You describe your project in the web interface; the platform generates repositories, pipelines, server configuration, and development environment from it, and you write the code yourself or with an AI agent such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex.
What the platform takes care of
For every building block, that is app, homepage, or backend, the platform generates a repository with a runnable code skeleton, pipeline, and configuration for local development, dev, and production.
The pipeline rolls changes on main out to the dev server automatically, you release production with a click, and version numbers come from your commit messages.
On your own server, a cloud server in your Hetzner or Hostinger account, or a managed server, the platform installs Docker, reverse proxy, firewall, HTTPS, and the access for deployments. For domains it derives the DNS records and keeps checking them. Email delivery and Sentry are connected under Connections, App Store and Play Store under Store accounts.
What stays with you
You need your own accounts for a server or managed server subscription, a domain registrar, the Apple and Google developer programs for the stores, and Sentry.
Supported are Flutter, React Native (Expo), Next.js, native iOS, and Android for apps, Hugo and Astro for homepages, and NestJS, FastAPI, and Laravel for backends; Django, Vue, Express, Symfony, Svelte, and Spring are missing today.
The building blocks
The web interface at app.application-platform.com manages organizations, projects, servers, connections, Docker Apps, domains, and workspaces.
GitLab at gitlab.application-platform.com stores your code and runs the pipelines, with the same account as the platform. Every project gets a group with one repository per building block plus local-configuration and gitops-configuration, see What is GitLab?.
The setup app for macOS, Windows, and Linux installs missing tools, clones your projects, and opens them in the editor, see the downloads page. Workspaces are preinstalled development machines in the cloud with remote desktop or VS Code in the browser.
Sentry collects errors from your applications; the platform enters the required values itself.
